Day 8 - Chicago (Tuesday, July 2, 2013)

Here we come, Chicago!

We drove to Chicago from our hotel. After we found parking (the cheapest we found was $28...yikes) we walked to Navy Pier.

A quick stop at the beach...in the middle of a city. 

Ronnie and I got to walk around the beautiful city of Chicago while Alexandria took a nice, little nap in her stroller. 

I was amazed by the number of police officers we saw walking around in pairs or groups. Apparently Chicago cops walk the beat!  

We had to have pizza before leaving Chicago.

Day 7 - Minneapolis to Chicago (Monday, July 1, 2013)

We stopped in La Crosse, Wisconsin to see the beauty of Grandad Bluff. 

We made a quick stop in Madison, Wisconsin. It was getting dark by the time we got there. 

Last stop for today - out hotel outside of Chicago. 

Day 6 - Minneapolis (Sunday, June 30, 2013)

We walked downtown Minneapolis today. We were pleasantly surprised by the $3 weekend parking in the lots.

We had crepes for lunch at this tiny little place on Nicollet Mall called La Belle Crepe.

We went a bit away from the downtown area. The bridge below overlooks the Mississippi. We walked down below the bridge to First Bridge Park and walked to Saint Anthony Falls.

We walked back to Nicollet Mall for dinner at The News Room and to see the rest of the street.  Then it was off to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. 

We went back to the hotel for a late night swim and then off to bed to prepare for our journey to Chicago the next day. 

Day 5 - Minneapolis (Saturday, June 29, 2013)

We visited the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. We spent our time there at the indoor amusement park.

Then we went to Jeannine and Alfredo's beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. 

The wedding ceremony was at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, Minnesota. It was a gorgeous day, which was amazing after the rainy mess the day before. There were trees everywhere. It was the perfect place for a wedding. 

The reception was at the Depot Renaissance Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. We had fun dancing and watching Alexandria dance the night away.
